Breastfeeding Support after Discharge: 
If you need breastfeeding help once you’re home, call the lactation program at (207) 662-4555.  If they’re unavailable, just leave a message and a lactation consultant will return your call within 24 hours. For mothers of babies 0-3 months old, the lactation consultants hold a weekly local support group.  You will learn more about the support group during your hospital stay.  For more information, call 662-6132.

Breast Pump Rental: 
If your baby is unable to nurse, your nurse will set you up with a breast pump and teach you how to use it during your stay. If needed, we can set you up with a breast pump rental for you when you are discharged or later when you return to work.  If you are an active Women’s Infants and Children (WIC) client, they may cover the cost of your breast pump rental.
