If you are coming to the hospital in labor, you can pull up to the main entrance on Bramhall Street and leave your car in one of our “temporary” parking spaces.
If you are coming to the hospital for a scheduled cesarean section, to have your labor induced, or to have another planned procedure, you may park in our convenient Congress Street parking garage. Directions to the heated connector that brings you into the building will be located in the parking garage elevator. Upon entering the connector, proceed past the reception desk and bear left. Then proceed down the corridor until you reach the lobby on your left.
From the North:
Take I-295 south to Exit 5A. As you come off the exit ramp bear right. Bear right again at the next intersection and you will be on Congress Street east. Continue over the railroad tracks and through two traffic lights. Maine Medical Center’s Congress Street parking garage entrance will be on your right.
From the South:
Take the Maine Turnpike (I-95) north to Exit 44 which is down-town Portland. After toll booth continue straight on Interstate 295 to Exit 5A, Congress Street east. Continue over the railroad tracks and through two traffic lights. Maine Medical Center’s Congress Street parking garage entrance will be on your right.
From the West - Route 302:
Follow Route 302 east to Forest Avenue. At the end of Forest Avenue, turn right onto Congress Street. Continue on Congress Street through three traffic lights. Maine Medical Center’s Congress Street parking garage entrance will be on your left.
From the Parking Garage:
Directions to the heated connector that brings you right into the East Building will be located in the parking garage elevator. Upon entering the connector, proceed past the reception desk and bear left. Then proceed down the corridor until you reach the lobby on your left. A customer service representative will provide you will directions to the Birth Center on the 2nd floor.
