We encourage family, friends and other guests to visit new mothers and babies in the comforting atmosphere of our Family Birth Center. To make you feel at home, we have a peaceful lounge with TVs, magazines, computers, wireless internet access, books and more. And there are built-in sleeper sofas in the private rooms so partners can spend the night. We have customer service representatives avauakbke that will be happy to help you find your destination. Visitor Services
Impressions Cafe
The Cafeteria is located on the ground floor of the Richards Wing. It is open daily from 6:30 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.
The Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop is located on the ground floor near the South Entrance. It is open during the day, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Hot foods, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages are generally available here and in the Cafeteria.
The Gift Shop
The Gift Shop is located in the Coffee Shop on the ground floor near the South Entrance. It offers candy, magazines, toiletries, and gifts. The Coffee and Gift shops are operated by the Women's Board of Maine General Hospital. It is open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The Flower Box
The Flower Box is located on the ground floor, and has a wide selection of cut flowers, plants, and arrangements in a variety of vases. It is operated by the Visiting Board of Children's Hospital. The Flower Box is open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Mailboxes
Mailboxes are located near the main entrance. Stamps are sold at the postage machine in the Mail Room located on the ground floor hallway of the Maine General Building. They are also available in the Medical Services Federal Credit Union ATM in the Admitting Lobby. You can also send a patient an online greeting.
Automatic Teller Machines
Two Automatic Teller Machines are located on the main floor off the lobby. The hospital cannot cash checks (except for the payment of bills).
Public Restrooms
Public restrooms are located on the ground floor, near the main lobby and near the Bramhall Lobby. Visitors must not use patient bathrooms.
Telephones
Telephones are located on the ground floor along the main corridor. Visitors must not use patient telephones.
The Chapel
The Chapel is located on the first floor of the Maine General Building and is open at all times for meditation and prayer.
Notary Publics
Notary Publics are available at MMC. If you need a document notarized, the patient's nurse can make the arrangements.
Newspapers
Newspapers are available in the Gift Shop and in machines near the main lobby. The Gift Shop also has magazines and paperbacks.
