Patient and Visitor Parking

Maine Medical Center opened a new parking garage with approximately 480 spaces for patient and visitor use. The new garage is best accessed via Congress Street and is connected to the medical center on two floors. Parking in the new garage is free for patients and visitors.

To assist patients and visitors in finding their destination upon arrival, Maine Medical Center installed a new internal and external signage system to help direct patient and visitor flow, providing the right information at the right time. The entrance to emergency services is clearly marked.

Patients and visitors approaching the medical center will be directed via outdoor signage to park in the new parking garage off Congress Street. Garage elevator signage will guide patients and visitors to enter the medical center either through the B floor (for emergencies and surgery only) or the G floor (for all other services).

As patients and visitors enter the medical center from the new garage through the G floor connector, Customer Service Representatives and other staff will direct them to the elevator that will take them to their destination. View a map of the main campus.

Parking in the Visitor’s Lot across the street from the South Entrance (on the corner of Vaughn and Chadwick Streets) is free! This lot is convenient for patients and visitors that need to go to Radiology, the Pharmacy, the Lab or to the Outpatient Clinic.

Valet service at the Emergency Department will continue, but limited now to only Emergency Department patients. This service is free to emergent patients.

Streets around the hospital are generally posted by the City of Portland as one-hour parking zones. This is strictly enforced by the City.
